God’s Boundless Love

25 January 2025

God’s love for man was the theme of Christ’s work here on Earth. Our heavenly Father loves His Earth-born children with a love so boundless that He loves Jesus all the more because He willingly gave His life for us so that we could be rescued from the penalty of sin.

The disciples of Jesus well understood this love as they watched their Saviour at His trial and on the cross enduring betrayal, shame, spitting and an agonizing death. God the Father suffered through all of this with His Son. This is a love that can never be fathomed by the human mind; it is so deep, so broad, and so high.

Jesus Christ is our Redeemer. He is the Word of God that became flesh and lived with us for over 30 years. The blood of Jesus shed for us on Calvary’s cross is the fountain in which we may wash and be cleansed from all our impurity. The sacrifice of Jesus is the reconciliation of God and man. God could never have done more for the salvation of man than He has done.

This gift can never be outdone. Never can God display a depth of love so rich. The sacrifice of God the Son on Calvary’s cross represents the pinnacle of His work in behalf of His human family. God has made it possible for us to obtain salvation by responding to this crowning act of love, and appropriating to ourselves the blessing that God has made it possible for man to obtain through our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
