Which Came First – The Chicken or the Egg?
The question is often asked, “Which came first – the chicken or the egg?” Why, neither…. When our wonderful Creator God called the birds of all kinds into existence, they were perfectly formed and ready to fly. For God said;
“Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.” Genesis 1: 20-22
Notice the phenomenal way that God brought the birds into existence – out of the waters! Imagine the extraordinary scene when at the command of God, incalculable numbers of birds of every kind burst through the surface of the waters, soaring upwards filling the air! Amazing! No wonder so many varieties of birds are as at home on the water as they are in the air; hence the term, ‘water birds’.
